The previous Company Law Board, the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction, and the Appellate Authority for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction have all been replaced by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). This new and revamped body now includes judicial as well as technical members.
Under this new structure, individuals eligible for the position of President of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) should have retired as a Judge in a High Court for a minimum of 5 years.
