The New Companies Act 2013 has replaced the older Companies Act 1956. With this transformative shift, there have been numerous changes to corporate practices in India. The same is true for the Corporate Lawyers and NCLT Lawyers in Noida, Delhi, etc. Key amendments include the abolition of the Company Law Board and the inception of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) as well as the establishment of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) for the purpose of handling the company appeals. Another modification under The New Companies Act 2013 has been the elimination of the jurisdiction of High Courts over company matters.
The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) was constituted by the Central Government under Section 408 of the Companies Act of 2013, effective from June 1, 2016. The 1st phase included the set up of 11 Benches, wherein the sole Principal Bench is in New Delhi. The Regional Benches are established in cities such as Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
